The conference explores ways professionals can communicate effectively and sustainably in a world that may feel chaotic and overwhelming. Over the past several years, many communication practitioners have found themselves grappling with unexpected and uncertain events with no or few tested models available to help them move through unprecedented communication challenges. How do we look past the recent waves of ad hoc solutions, experimentation and frantic innovations? What practices and systems can we create that not only maintain but actually improve the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities? What are the forward-looking, proactive approaches to communication that build resilience and foster connection in the face of ongoing uncertainty and increasing complexity?

Communication scholars and practitioners are invited to submit an abstract for a conference paper, broadly responding to one or several of these themes:
